Canberra Youth Theatre

Canberra Youth Theatre (CYT) was established in 1972 and is a nationally recognised not for profit youth arts company which creates and promotes theatre with young people that is inspirational, enriching, collaborative and innovative. Canberra Youth Theatre is proudly supported by its members, the ACT Government through artsACT and the ACT Health Promotions Grant Program, and the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.

What do we do? CYT provides young people ages 7-25 with the opportunity to explore, extend and develop their creativity through theatre/drama workshops and productions. Young people work with emerging and professional artists to unleash their imaginations in order to create exciting, fun and challenging theatre.
