Capital Arts Patrons Organisation (CAPO)

CAPO is a unique non-profit, non-political, private fund raising body. It is dedicated to raising money for distribution to Canberra’s arts community in the form of Fellowships and Grants.
CAPO’s two main forms of fund-raising are via a major Auction held each year and also through their cash sponsorship program.

The organisation is now well established within the Australian business and arts community as a premier fundraising organisation and the only one for the arts which is privately funded.
The Capital Arts Patrons Organisation is now in its 24th year of bringing business and the arts together, and has contributed over $1.6 million into our community by supporting artists in all fields of endeavour. CAPO believes that encouraging artists to live and work in our city has many benefits for tourism, business and education, and contributes to the health and well being of its citizens.

The large number of artists who throw their support behind this event, each by donating works of art, continues to astound us. Thanks to the artists, we live in a city that is culturally enriched and will continue to be so for many years to come.

The CAPO auction has been an important part of Canberra’s cultural calendar for many years. It unites our local business and arts communities in support of artistic endeavour.
